Let’s Discuss Your Event

SOME NOTES
FROM LAST YEAR

Well done Nikhil Krishnan and Danielle Poreh! Really enjoyed the content, but even more so the amazing group of operators you guys assembled. Looking forward to the next one!

A really great event! It was very cathartic to spend so much time with talented peers and hear about their successes (and challenges). Thanks for putting this on!

The first weekend in March is blocked off on my calendar in perpetuity for the OOP Retreat. I've been to every single one - even the one that was 3 weeks before my kid was born 🙂Absolutely NOTHING beats being face-to-face with the brilliant and kind people from the slack community. I let my guard down, discuss what's been challenging for me professionally (and personally), and come back with tangible ideas to improve.
And even more, I come back with new and strengthened friendships. Opportunities like this become more rare as we age. It'd be silly to not jump on this.
I promise that you'll never regret coming to retreat.

OOP Retreat is the best weekend of the year, hands down. Getting to reconnect with friends, meeting new wonderful members, putting faces to names, and most of all, laughing and venting about healthcare (and non-healthcare!) topics. Plus, unofficial Saturday afterparty is where it's at. Respectfully, you'd be a fool to miss this weekend.

The retreat is one of the best parts of my year. It’s a gathering of dedicated healthcare professionals who are not only experts in their field but also a pleasure to be around. You come away with valuable insights and build strong connections with both current and future leaders in healthcare. It’s an incredibly rewarding experience.

For the past three years, I've been sneaking away to what I tell my friends and family is a ‘conference for fellow nerds who like to spend their weekends talking about healthcare.’ They don’t ask questions because it’s clearly very on-brand for me. Little do they know, the OOP Retreats have been such highlights over the past three years. The retreats provide dedicated time and space to dig in to different healthcare topics, debate the merits of new areas of innovation, and brainstorm solutions to messy problems. What I’ve enjoyed the most is the opportunity to get to know the OOP community beyond their tiny thumbnails on Slack—whether that be in the breakout sessions or after hours over food/drink. I’ve had the opportunity to run the Patient Engagement subgroup session each year. It has been fascinating to see how the discussions have evolved, with attendees bringing fresh perspectives and tackling both longstanding and emerging challenges in the field. From debating how AI can support patient engagement to brainstorming new ways to improve enrollment in wrap-around services, these sessions never fail to spark intense discussions and creative problem-solving. So, if you're looking for a place where you can geek out about healthcare, make lasting connections, and finally put faces to those Slack names, look no further. Just don't be surprised if you return home with a head full of innovative ideas, a phone full of new contacts, and maybe a slight headache from all that "brainstorming.” Trust me though, it's one of the few conferences you'll actually look forward to attending year after year.

The OOP retreat has become a cornerstone of my year—it's made OOP overall something I’m not willing to give up! Here’s why the retreat goes above and beyond the online component of this community, personally:First, peer mentorship in my industry subsector. It’s given me a real and productive connection with peers outside my own company. Having smart, objective people who aren’t caught up in my day-to-day but still understand the industry has been a game-changer. Conversations like these just don’t happen online. Every year's BYOP and small group sessions brings me 'real talk' connections that last beyond the weekend. This has been invaluable as I’ve made the otherwise rather isolating shift from IC to exec in recent years.Second, actionability. Nikhil and the team do an amazing job curating content that’s not only thought-provoking but also actionable. Unlike most conferences where it’s all about brand-building, here we’re focused on real problem-solving—stuff we can take back and apply immediately. The $ cost is secondary to the time we’re giving up from a weekend to travel, and this retreat has consistently been worth every bit of that time.Third, friends who happen to work in healthcare. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized how hard it is to build real friendships with people who share my values and curiosity. This retreat has been a rare space where I can find those connections, get pushed to think bigger, and be held accountable in ways that really matter. My peeps - you know who you are! And, of course, it’s one of the most fun weekends of the year—dancing included! My knees are still wobbly from last year
