Why Attend The Healthcare 101 Learning Summit

Healthcare is confusing, but no one has time to explain how all the pieces fit together. We keep it fun, engaging, and easy-to-understand.

In 1.5 days, we’ll teach you everything. From the basics of the jargon and major laws, all the way through how each stakeholder makes money.

We’ll do group work, have guests from the industry, and you’ll meet a bunch of other people in healthcare for your future network.

Covering All Of The Bases

We’ll tackle all of the big concepts and main players you need to know in healthcare. Case studies and example will help solidify the concepts.

As someone in healthcare, there’s so much I don’t know about healthcare and this was a really great, fun, lighthearted but information way to learn about so many other arms in healthcare that I didn’t know enough about. I liked that it was covered a lot, but not TOO much and not overly deep, but enough to understand and be aware.

Laurie Linton

Nikhil's course is so comprehensive – it covers every area of the healthcare system (even ones I frankly didn't know existed) and does so in a super digestible, engaging format. I learned so many fundamentals about healthcare that are pertinent to my work, and I feel more confident going into a new job with more insights under my belt.

Claire Schillings

Since I'm starting at CBS soon and want to work on healthcare in the US after (I've worked in healthcare in India), I feel like this course gave me the perfect headstart to understand the system so now I can focus on identifying opportunities. And also, Nikhil's memes!

Saloni Mehta

I think its broad introduction to many big moving parts inside healthcare. The broad strokes to cover them helps someone get a overall picture - which is incredibly hard in the given system. For the curious minds, they can dive deeper into areas they want later. Also, the slack/network is BIG win!

Akshay

I loved how dense and practical the information was and how fast-paced the course was delivered. It feels like it gave me enough of a high level understand of the system that I can now dig in further to understand more about any particular part of it, understanding how it all fits together.

Ryan Browne

The course broke down healthcare in a way no one has ever done before. The course was super informative and provided an excellent overview of healthcare in the United States.

Aaisha Mirza

It was a great review of a lot of topics and very well suited for someone that has little healthcare background. Even for someone like me with 15+ years of experience, he did a great job breaking down complex topics and was a good refresher on topics that I haven't visited in a while.

Dhiren Patel

It was a refreshingly tactical experience — we didn't get stuck in the clouds talking about theoretical ideas; we got to the brass tacks of how to do the hard work that needs going. Also, what kind of conference runs on time? An operator conference, evidently.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many people are going to be attending?

It’s our first time doing this live, but we expect around 40-50. But we might even surprise ourselves!

If I took the virtual healthcare 101 course, should I come to this?

A lot of the lecture material will be overlapping, but we think there’s a lot of value in meeting other people + doing in-person work.If you want a refresher and want to come, we’ll give you 50% off if you’ve come to the course before. Email us events@outofpocket.health.

Should I take the virtual or in-person healthcare 101?

The virtual healthcare 101 covers more material over 2 weeks, but less time per day. It’s less intensive and easier to access virtually.

The live healthcare 101 course will cover the majority of the course in a single day in-person (let’s be honest, attention spans on zoom are short). You’ll also meet people in the industry and spend some hands-on time working on problems together.

What is the price of the event?

The ticket is $1200. You can email sales@outofpocket.health for group discounts.

What if I can’t make it last minute? Can I transfer my ticket?

Yes, if you can’t make it then you can transfer your ticket. We will give full refunds up to 3 weeks before, 50% up to 2 weeks before, and then no refunds after unfortunately.
