LET’S BUILD WITH HARDWARE

Let’s get physical. Hardware is having its moment - we’re seeing more wearables, smart glasses, ambient listening pins, and more.

Come to our hackathon where we’ll be combining hardware with AI tools to build healthcare applications in a weekend. You don’t need previous experience building with hardware.

We’ll supply the wearables, raspberry pis, AI tools, healthcare experts, and copious energy drinks. You show up with the building spirit

Frequently Asked Questions

Where will this be in SF?
You’ll find out if you’re accepted :) Additional details about the exact address and event logistics will be sent as the date approaches
Does it cost money to attend?
The hackathon is free, thanks to the beauty of capitalism and sponsors.

However, we will be asking attendees for a $150 deposit that we will refund within 48 hours of the event if you attend. This is to prevent flaking, which is really tough for events like these where teams are depending on you.
What kinds of projects would be good fits?
Think using heart rate data to power a patient video game, a video pin to record what caregivers do to fill out documentation, smart ring to track new digital endpoints for a trial, etc.

Fun, weird, and practical ways we can use hardware in different parts of healthcare. These don’t need to be your final projects.
How does the matching process work?
Our goal is to create teams of 5. If you apply with less than 5, we’ll add people to your team until we reach that. If you’re an individual, we’ll match you up with teams or other individuals into teams of 5.

We’ll combine based on skillsets and similarity in the project types you want to build.
What's the actual schedule of events?
The weekend kicks off on Friday from 5–8:30pm with team mixing, problem use case highlights from partner companies, and an ideation session.

Saturday runs from 9–10am with breakfast and presentations, followed by hacking from 10am until late (typically around 11pm) with workshops, office hours, and scheduled meal breaks throughout the day.

Sunday is focused on final hacking from 9am–2pm with breakfast and lunch provided, followed by a 3pm demo day and a 5:30pm closing happy hour.
What about lodging?
We’ll be getting a hotel block if there’s enough interest from people participating in the hackathon. While we won’t be covering the cost, we’ll secure a hotel block at a discounted rate for participants. More details coming soon.
