When art critics get together they talk about Form and Structure and Meaning. When artists get together they talk about where you can buy cheap turpentine.
—Picasso

Data Camp is an intimate, invite-only conference designed to bring together the brightest minds in healthcare data to talk about turpentine.

We read through hundreds of applications, loved yours, and would love to invite you to come share your perspective.

Unlike broader industry events, Data Camp dives deep into the technical challenges, creative solutions, and sharpest insights that come out of dealing with the … quirks of Healthcare Data.

The event is capped to 80 people and we will close out the payment link once we hit capacity. We’d love to see you there!

SOME NOTES
FROM LAST YEAR

Well done Nikhil Krishnan and Danielle Poreh! Really enjoyed the content, but even more so the amazing group of operators you guys assembled. Looking forward to the next one!

Bobby Guelich

CEO ~ Elion

A really great event! It was very cathartic to spend so much time with talented peers and hear about their successes (and challenges). Thanks for putting this on!

Knowledgefest provides a super unique community because you’re surrounded by people who experience different versions of complex, shared problems. This is a conference whose explicit purpose is to create an actionable environment to explore, solve, and connect around those challenges, share the ups and downs of those experiences, and get to know one another in an authentic way throughout. I could not recommend more highly!

Jared Scharf

Manager, Program Operations ~ Maimonides Medical Center

Every single session and transition was meticulously planned to make sure everyone came out with 3-5 tactical approaches to put to the test the next week. No need to ever go to a conference to connect with peers again!

Shohini Gupta

Senior Product Manager ~ First Hand

Knowledgefest was a (damn) pleasure. The planning was perfect from end-to-end; the mix of people and skillsets, the opportunities to meet ahead and after, the locations, the food, and of course, THE CONTENT. As promised, I left with templates, ideas, and tools that I drew on in the weeks following. It was also just fun, mostly because a rare space was cultivated where folks could be authentic. My only hope is that it is longer in future years!

Bobby Guelich

CEO ~ Elion

If you're an operator within a tech-enabled care delivery business, THIS is the conference you need to go to! Not only will you meet peers who are facing the same challenges as you and offer insight - you will walk away with tools & tips that you can implement immediately!

Jayesh Srivastava

General Manager ~ Evergreen Nephrology

A really great event! It was very cathartic to spend so much time with talented peers and hear about their successes (and challenges). Thanks for putting this on!

KevinDeLury

Principal ~ ClearTurn Consulting

It was a refreshingly tactical experience — we didn’t get stuck in the clouds talking about theoretical ideas; we got to the brass tacks of how to do the hard work that needs doing. Also, what kind of conference runs on time? An operator conference, evidently.

Doug Streat

COO ~ Aledade Care Solutions

Thanks for organizing this Nikhil Krishnan and Danielle Poreh - it was one of the most energizing and refreshing conferences I’ve been to in some time. Appreciate the opportunity to partake, get real with, and learn from so many leaders in the healthcare space.

Alyssa Segula

Head of Care, Customer Success ~ Digbi

So niche, so fresh, so useful! The best way to meet other peeps in digital health who are going through similar challenges.

Julia Chapin

COO ~ Abridge

Knowledgefest is the most useful conference that I've ever been to. From the relevant and well-facilitated workshops to the caliber of Ops individuals attending, everything is catered to help up your operational game. There is a focus on immediate application, too - I have a lot of tactics (with supporting frameworks) that I'm going to apply to my day-to-day, starting Monday.

Nate Brown

SVP, Operations ~ Thyme Care

A conference so fun, you'll sign up to attend it on a weekend" But seriously, I deeply enjoyed being among like-minded people putting together an event that aims to be both actionable and interesting

Sarah Cohan

Senior Manager, Product Marketing ~ Turquoise Health

Knowledgefest brings together the best operators from every corner of health tech - the sessions are relevant, useful, and fun. Knowledgefest sends you home with real ideas you can implement the next day.

Tina Noohi

Director, Implementation & Partnerships ~ Nest Health

I came away with a whole notebook of “tomorrow-ready” ideas and tactics. Highly valuable for both my roles in a large health system and advisory roles. I couldn’t ask for a nicer and more helpful group of Knowledge Festers!

Matt Sakumoto

Regional CMIO and Digital Health Advisor ~ Health Advisor

Knowledgefest is the most action-oriented conference you can get! Going back to work following the conference, I was able to immediately implement some of the learnings I had from Knowledgefest. The group of people was such that I could immediately find someone who was living through the same challenges and was excited to riff on solutions. Sessions were built to be tactical, allowing attendees to leave with specific templates and tools they could put into action.

Steph Grice

GM, Clinical Operations ~ Harbor Health

Knowledgefest was relevant, intentional, and practical. I left with things to implement on Monday morning and a list of contacts who are quick and willing to provide a suggestion or troubleshoot. I will be advocating for someone from my team to be at all future Knowledgefests. You know when there's a super niche joke or meme that only certain coworkers get and then you try to explain to your non-work friend why something is funny and it never lands? Knowledgefest was all of the first part with none of the second part.

Kelsie Brandt

VP, Strategic Operations ~ Nest Health

The Knowledgefest team put together an incredible gathering of doers and problem-solvers. I learned something useful from everyone I met.

Jared Drake

President & COO ~ WiserCare, Inc.

It was great, really appreciate the time and energy you all spend to put it together. Best conference I have ever been to.

Alex Kubal

Sr. Director Supply Chain ~ Thirty Madison

About OOP:

Out-Of-Pocket is on a goal to teach people how healthcare works and make it more fun. We write about trends happening in the industry, teach courses on how it works, create events for peers to learn from each other, and so much more.

See everything we’re up to, you might find something you like.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many people are going to be attending?

We’re setting a hard cap on the number of attendees (~80). We’re going to have some virtual activities leading up to the event so people have a chance to meet the other attendees. This is meant to be intimate and curated, we want you to know the other people coming.

What is the price of the event?

The price is $850.
The event is capped to 80 people and we will close out the payment link once we hit capacity. It's first come, first serve so buy your ticket soon if you want to come!

I'm not directly in operations, should I apply?

Yes! We encourage folks that work with operations teams to apply (ops curious, we might call it). Last year we had speakers that ranged from product to founders - if you're in the trenches, you should apply.

When will we make decisions about applications?

We have an application and will select high quality attendees with diverse perspectives. The application will also help us narrow down topics people actually want to talk about. The application is due on July 21 2023 and we’ll be making decisions shortly after.

Is there a deadline to purchase my ticket?

The event is capped to 80 people and we will close out the payment link once we hit capacity. We'd love to see you there!

What if I can’t make it last minute? Can I transfer my ticket?

If it’s 1 month out from the event we’ll give you a full refund, 2 weeks and we’ll give you a 50% refund. Otherwise, unfortunately there’s not much we can do. You’re literally 1/80th of the audience lol.

Because this is an application-based conference and we’re pretty carefully curating the crowd, ticket transfers are not allowed.

Will you be organizing accommodations?

We’re planning to partner with a hotel in Boston to offer rooms at a discounted group rate. We’ll share the details as soon as everything is confirmed.

Will there be food?

yes, there will be food - we are catering breakfast, lunch and snacks during the event before and after the conference. We ask that you include any dietary restrictions when purchasing your ticket.

I have another question not answered here

Email us at events@outofpocket.health and we’ll get back to you.
